Historic cottar's farm

The sounds of civilisation rarely reach this yard. The archaic farmstead, preserved in its original state, sits in a small clearing at the very edge of Ohepalu bog. The farm's first inhabitants, Kargu Kaarel and Kargu Leena, watch what goes on from their portraits on the wall.
At the door you are greeted by an old scent that brings back childhood, grandmother's days or an open-air museum you can actually live in. This is the kind of farm where Estonians lived for centuries.
Film-makers have appreciated the farm's authenticity too: Estonia's first psychological horror film, “Rebaserada”, was shot here.

Our family of four spent the weeks before Christmas at Linnumäe Nature Farm as if in an old fairy tale. The creaking floors, the stoves and the natural candlelight took our minds far away from everyday chores, and a relaxing sauna with a bracing roll in the snow helped the whole family to rest really well.
