The spa with three saunas and a hot tub is entirely yours: not shared with anyone, no rush to be anywhere. The saunas are heated for your arrival, and after the sauna the fireplace is waiting. This is the part of the evening people remember most.

Frequently asked questions
How many guests can Õnnela hold?
The fireplace hall holds over 60 people, with room for a band or party games too. Smaller groups are also welcome; we agree the hall price according to the size of the group.
Can we stay overnight at Õnnela?
Yes, up to 30 guests in total. Two heated park houses about 150 metres away have five beds, the second floor of the guesthouse has six bedrooms for up to 10 guests, and if more beds are needed we also accommodate guests in the neighbouring Õnnela host house. The host house and park houses stay quiet even when the party in the fireplace hall goes on late into the night. Tell us how many people will stay overnight and we will put together a room plan.
Is the sauna and spa just for our group?
Yes, the whole spa area is yours alone during your booking: a wood-fired sauna, steam sauna, infrared sauna, a hot tub for up to 8 people and a cold plunge pool. The saunas are heated for your arrival.
How far is Õnnela from Tallinn?
Õnnela is in Ohepalu village, Kadrina parish, Lääne-Viru County. It is 85 km or about 50 minutes' drive from Tallinn, 12 km from Tapa and 26 km from Rakvere. There is a large free car park next to the house.
Is Õnnela suitable for team days and company parties?
Yes. During the day you can hold a seminar or training in the meeting room with presentation equipment, then head out on a guided hike and carry on in the evening with dinner, sauna and spa. The whole house is reserved for your team, and you can stay overnight if you wish. A sample programme, room layouts and equipment are on the team events and seminars page.
Where does the food come from?
The food is prepared by the Vaksali Tavern kitchen from fresh local produce, without semi-finished products. We put the menu together for your event, whether it is a formal dinner or a generous party spread.
What is there to do around Õnnela?
We organise guided bog hikes to Lake Ohepalu Suurjärv, torchlight hikes in the dark season and snowshoe and ski tours in winter. Four marked trails start right from Õnnela's door. See more on the hiking page.
Can we bring our pet?
Yes, you can stay with a pet in the main house. The spa building has carpets, so dogs cannot stay overnight there.
Can we bring our own drinks?
Yes. You can keep your own drinks in the guest fridge in the party hall.
Are fireworks and sky lanterns allowed?
No. Fireworks, sky lanterns, firecrackers and confetti leave litter in nature that we are still finding months later. We also ask that games and activities stay within the Õnnela grounds.

Õnnela Guesthouse is on the edge of the Kõrvemaa countryside in Lääne-Viru County, in Ohepalu village, Kadrina parish, about 50 minutes' drive from Tallinn towards Narva. The house is surrounded by forests and bogs, with the Ohepalu nature reserve and Lake Ohepalu Suurjärv nearby. There is a large free car park next to the house.
